Recent Engagements

Superfund Transfer
A major manufacturer structured blended finite environmental insurance program for the transfer of superfund liability to a third party. The transaction was designed to be a vehicle for cash-out and regulatory release and the policy was structured to provide a balancing asset for environmental liability. Tax opinion confirms that the transaction can be considered an expense in the year that the transaction occurred.

Exiting a Leased Facility
An international holding company engaged Hylant Group to conduct competition among contractors for competitive bids to assume complete environmental site liability relating to the exit from a leased facility.

Bankruptcy
A manufacturing company in bankruptcy needed assistance in the disposal of non-performing assets with environmental impairments in an insured transaction prior to reorganization.

Asset Divestiture
A coal mining company engaged Hylant Group to sell a large portfolio of idle assets with environmental liabilities on a multi-year schedule.

Redevelopment
Liabilities related to a former industrial site had stalled redevelopment on a 400-acre property — a waterfront site just outside of Manhattan that was long considered unusable. Now, with the use of technical expertise by an experienced brownfield redevelopment team, coupled with environmental insurance, the site is slated for cleanup and a 1.5 billion upscale, mixed-use development.
